So this Valentine’s Day, I decided to take a little tour of my favorite lingerie and sex toy shop, Zovo. It’s really more of a lingerie store, but they do carry a variety of lotions and vibrators. Around Valentine’s Day, they have a wider range of fun stuff than they normally carry.
I love Zovo, because they don’t come off as creepy. There are no guys with hoods over their heads in the corner, the staff isn’t pierced and tattooed. Granted- I have nothing against piercings and tattoos. Heck, I was young and single in the 90’s!
However, alternative-looking staff combined with creepy guys in overcoats create an image that’s off-putting to say the least. Add bad packaging and thongs made out of materials that would give you hives…and it’s no wonder few women past the age of 25 brave sex toy shops!
If more sex toys were sold in stores like Zovo, the industry would have a vastly different image.
…that’s all I’m sayin’.
I hope y’all treat yourself to something pretty and fun this Valentine’s Day. Videotape your experience and let me know how it goes!
Oooo, great idea for a video and I love the ducky. He’s so cute.

I know! I was dying over the duckie!! I may go back and buy him since he wasn’t that expensive. Waterproof? What a great idea!
Thanks so much for stopping by, Falyn.

LOL, only you Daisy! There are some nice shops in New Orleans. Whenever I hit the Quarter, I just like to browse some of the shops. There are tons in the Quarter (of course), but some are very tasteful and don’t have the creep factor, unlike the ones in my hometown. Now THOSE are scary, LOL

Ha! Yeah, the scary ones are skeeery! It’s no wonder people buy most of that kind of thing online nowadays. (The vibrators and such. Lingerie I think people try on._
Ach- I so have to go to New Orleans! Maybe there will be a RT or RWA there some year.

We only have a couple of those places here and they are in very skeevy areas of town!
I heard that rumor about RT coming to New Orleans in 2012- I hope so!! I adore New Orleans.

Ooh! That sounds like so much fun. My mom is always saying how great New Orleans is. Are you going to the one in LA?

I’m hoping 2012 is in New Orleans as well. I wouldn’t be able to make an RT otherwise!

Na. I’m going to LA in March for a trip with my cousin and can’t do both! I AM going to RWA in NYC, though.

Well, Daisy, I’m pretty much speechless.
I was young and single in the 60s. Ha.
And, by the way, that guy in the corner wearing a hooded sweatshirt was NOT me.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

My parents met in 1969 (they were 17 and 18). We lived in NYC for a while when I was little and they went to Studio 54 and stuff.
Funny- I actually went into a place recently that sold videos and there actually was a guy in a hood browsing vids and adjusting himself uncomfortably. All I could think was, do people still even watch DVDs? Someone get that perv a computer and internet access!
Thanks for commenting! It’s good for my self esteem. đŸ™‚
