Sigh…

What a fun topic this week. Reading all these posts has me fanning myself.

Gosh, it’s so difficult for me to pick a movie, really. I mean, I LOVED: I Am Number Four, SALT, Avatar….I don’t watch really hot movies. Sure, there usually are some nice looking gentlemen who often appear shirtless (*cough* Twilight Saga) but for the most part, I’m pretty tame in the movie watching end of things.

But books…well, I’ve stumbled onto some pretty hot ones. Sometimes intentionally and sometimes it was a surprise.

Gena Showalter and Kresley Cole have to be some of the best at writing HOT books. A couple have proven to be a bit too hot for me, but for the most part, I really enjoy their books.

Mostly, for me, I love the emotional intensity. That crackling, intense look across the room. A slight touch. A whisper in the ear.

To me, that’s some of the hottest romance out there. You get that with Showalter and Cole along with the “other” kind of hot (wink). I think that’s what makes them so intense.

Do tell…what are some of your faves?

You know I’m all about the Kresley Cole! I love how hot they are, but for me, the best part of her books is the emotional connection you make with the characters. When that black moment comes, you hurt for them. Okay, that settles it. I’m going to have to re-read the whole series. Again.

  2. I like the very things you discussed- the subtle looks, glances, and touches. That can all be very hot in my book! Great choices

Yeah, emotional heat has its place, but from a guy’s perspective, things are usually handled at the visual level. Some say that’s about the gender ‘wiring’ and others say it’s preference. Who knows?

As if my To Be Read pile isn’t tall enough. I do have a couple of Gena Showalter books waiting and I just spied a Kresley Cole too. Shuffling the pile, but first….I have to read our own Jillian Chantal’s “Redemption For the Devil”. It’s next in the cue. 🙂
