When I found out this week was a free-for-all, I had all sorts of wild ideas for today’s subject. I could talk about passive-aggressiveness! Or I could talk about oppositional defiance *raises her hand*. Or I could talk about writing and how fulfilling and frustrating it can be.
Then I sat down at the keyboard and my brain started chanting, “Toga! Toga! Toga!” because apparently, I don’t want to talk about anything of any importance. Are you surprised? I’m not. Sometimes I just like to sit back and let my mind think it’s warped, twisted, humorous thoughts without pondering anything heavy and meaningful.
Don’t get me wrong, I like to think deep thoughts. I can sit down and chat about physics, history, religion, government, and pretty much anything people around me want to talk about, but sometimes I just like to drift. It’s in this drifting that I come across some hilarious scenarios, or remember horribly embarrassing things I’ve done in my life. Those are often the moments I start laughing to myself (and yes, I do get weird looks, but who cares?).
So, take a moment and let your mind drift. Think of silly things, or think about how you once stuck a Mardi Gras bead up your nose and then told your mother about it so she freaked out…*cough* And while you’re drifting, listen to this:
LOVE IT! I’m like you (there’s that shared brain thing again), I can be serious when the occasion calls for it but I’d rather laugh my way through life. I loved this film when it came out (except for the gross parts! LOL!) Thanks for the memory this Wednesday!

This is one of my favorite movies…gross parts included, LOL. I felt a lot like these guys when I was in college *cough cough*

I don’t think “Animal House” ever gets old. I loved your post. And since I’m trying to get going on my word counts, I’m taking your advice and thinking of silly things just because you gave me permission. (Plus I could really use the break from the monotonous day to day crap filling up space in my head.)

Sometimes you just have to decompress and silly thinking is a great way to do it. If I can’t think of anything silly enough, I just ponder my favorite Monty Python skits and I’m good to go 😉

Animal House was a great film. Classic.
I especially liked the parade scene … and those vignettes at the end. Imagine Bluto later becoming a Senator!
“Double secret probation” Ha.
Glad to see the Cajun Fox didn’t have anything too imposing on her mind today.
Brainstorming is the way to go. Hope everybody will check in tomorow to see the odd jaunt my brain took me on this week.
