Please forgive any dual posts. Wordpress is not liking me today. My first attempt did not go through.
Ah, October 31st. It means it’s time for me to go through those Ziploc bags on my bottom shelf full of all that candy from all the previous holidays and classroom parties of the past year. Lollipops, hard candy, Laffy Taffy, and all sorts of other orthodontic nightmares which I won’t eat. In other words, no chocolate. Don’t get me wrong. I keep a steady supply of chocolate in my house, but it’s placed up high on mama’s prime shelf and it certainly hasn’t been there for months on end. But tonight, we restock.
Now, don’t go thinking I pilfer all my kids’ Halloween candy. But I admit, they’ll have a few less Snickers, Kit Kats, and 100,000 Grand bars by the time I finish “inspecting” their haul. I consider it the Mom Tax. I need it for tomorrow when National Novel Writing Month – NaNo for short – begins. Nothing like a good dose of sugar on the way to 50,000 words in one month. Hopefully it won’t translate into 50,000 extra calories. I suppose I could dance it off. Like with the Thriller dance. Yeah, that’s it. Enjoy the video (I hope it shows up) and pass the candy corn. Happy Halloween!
This was absolutely the best thing he ever did AND Vincent Price- YEAH!!! Check this out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjkXAymtpw8

My sister and I used to race home from school to catch the Thriller video when it came out. We’d practice the moves along with MJ and all the zombies. He really took music videos to a new level with Thriller.

Thanks for the video, Micki! And Jillian! I love Vincent Price, too!

I was always a Vincent Price fan also.
And this was truly the best video MJ ever made. And he still looked healthy and normal in this time period.
He was such a creative individual … what a shame to end up as he did.

Agreed, Jeff! Best MJ video. When I think of him, I think of that whole body of work that came from the Thriller album…Beat It, Billie Jean, Pretty Young Thing.
And Janette…thanks for stopping by!
Michael Jackson + John Landis + Vincent Price = Best music video that will stand the test of time!

The “Mom Tax” — ha … I love it!
I just ‘screened’ the give-away bowl for Hershey Bar miniatures. So I guess that’s the Grand-Dad tax.

I can’t remember what my folks called it, but I’m seriously disappointed that there weren’t any 100,000 Grand bars. I’ll take any of those dark chocolate Hershey miniatures if they aren’t already collected for the Grand-Dad tax. 🙂

Sadly there was only ONE in dark choc. The others were the plain Hershey Bar flavor … and they’re hardly more than about 2.5 inches long. by the time you take one bite, it’s history.
