Jillian: Lavada Dee was nice enough to come by and see us today. She has a new release out with Laurie Ryan. It’s a Christmas Anthology and sounds like a great read. Since it is a Christmas anthology, I have asked her here to tell us about her hero and heroine’s favorite Christmas songs. Thanks for coming by, Lavada.
Lavada:
I am so happy to be with you all today. Thank you Jillian for having me.
When Jillian asked me talk about Taylor Hamilton and Gabe Lynch and their favorite Christmas songs. I had to think about that because the only mention of music is Gabe’s love of Country Western. Unlike some authors, I don’t write with music in the background. But it was a good question and made me stop and take another look at the characters from the view of a reader.
So first the heroine, Taylor Hamilton.
Taylor is New York chic. Holidays are busy at her fathers prestigious law firm and she barely notices the Christmas music that plays in the lobby and elevators. That changes this year. She’s just come home from the small town of Laurelville and her friends wedding. She’s fallen in love and all of her senses are heightened. The cold crisp air, snow flakes, children wrapped up for the weather with red cheeks, bright eyes and happy smiles.
But sometime love hurts and when Gabe draws away, Taylor isn’t in the mood for light music like Perry Como’s It’s Beginning To Look a Lot Like Christmas.
Until Gabe surprises her.
Gabe has always loved Christmas. He loves it all, family, friends, music, Christmas trees and everything that goes with the Holidays. This year his favorite song is the one he shares withTaylor “You’re All I Want For Christmas.”
Jillian: Awesome choices, Lavada. Makes me want to read the story even more.

Welcome to 4Foxes1Hound, Lavada!
I think it’s very cool to have two anthology co-authors visiting our blog.
Like you, I do not listen to music as I write. Anything which I can hear distracts me and my ear starts ‘tracking’ it. Pretty soon I’m listening for the bass line or predicting the percussion riff.
Counterproductive.
So I greatly prefer silence.
When I’m exercising or not doing anything in particular, my favorite music is Golden Oldies. And, for those in the X & Y generation who may be reading, “Golden Oldies” does NOT refer to the stuff spit out during the 1990s. LOL.

Welcome to the the blog, Lavada! I love the cover. As much as I love music, I can’t write with it either. It might inspire a scene, but I need silence for the actual writing. I’m looking forward to reading your anthology.

Jeff, you have a wonderful way with words. No Golden Oldies does not refer to 1990’s things. I am fast becoming a fan of Michael Buble’s. He has can really sing those older songs.
Micki, Thanks for dropping in. I really enjoyed doing the cover, my first.
