Eco-Boy

I’ve been green for a long time. My oldest son is very much into saving our planet and we had all the recycling tools before anyone else I know in my day to day life. He won the University eco-challenge when he was in his first year of college. My younger son who is wonderfully creative as well, nicknamed his brother eco-boy when the oldest was in middle school. He nicknamed his father, in the same time period, Sir Camps-a-lot.

Even though eco-boy is across the pond for now, we still follow all his green rules. It’s a habit by now. Eco-boy has also placed in the final eight in an internatianal architecture design competition for a sustainable housing community. This type of building and work is his life’s dream. I’m proud that he’s on the cutting edge of this movement toward multi-purposing our communities.

Green? Yeah, I’m green and proud of it!

  1. I am proud to know both of those boys and know that they both give you much to be proud of with their diverse talents.

You have reason to be proud! I love hearing about the next generation who are concerned about the future instead of skating through the present with no worries.

  3. Congrats on Eco-boy, Jillian! I have to say that both of my former Eagle Scouts are also eco-minded. Makes us have hope for the old planet!

    • Awesome. Love it that you’re the mom of two eagles. My son quit at life scout. Broke my heart.

      • I love Boy Scouts…I got all caught up in the Cub Scout thing when my boys were young, very contrary to my usual personality.Dad took over with the Boy Scouts and had a blast. Now,The Next Generation is coming along; Grandson is a Bear Cub Scout; the other son’s girls are a Daisy and a Brownie…I had to shell out for cookies, poor me,(my poor waist!)

        • My husband was scout master and he’s the one who was the reason my son quit at life scout. His dad pushed and bullied him until the kid walked away. Was a shame, really.

Cookies are the devil. Lol. I love the mint ones frozen. Yum!

Yep, cookies. I think they see Jack coming. He can never pass up the little ones standing out in front of the stores.

Jillian you said what I always say. “If our kids weren’t our kids they would be our best friends anyhow.” As it is we have both – best friends and family.

It’s way past time we started taking care of our planet. Go Green!

Used to love GS cookies, but can’t eat them anymore — gluten.
Anyhow, congrats, Jillian, on raising two sons who are eco-minded.

Way to go Eco-boy! High five to Mom…that is if you’re not asleep yet since I’m so late stopping by. Otherwise, you can collect your GREEN high-five in the morning. 🙂

I’m late chiming in here, but kudos to eco-boy and to you for helping the environment. I just took a tour yesterday through a local parks facility about to open up that has gone green. Lots of solar tube skylights so they don’t need lighting most of the time. Geo-thermal heat (they dug 39 wells to accomplish this), stormwater filtration before it hits the storm drain, reusing materials. the list goes on and I’m proud of their efforts.
