I’ve been mighty absent of late and I apologize. Today though, I’m back with a list of things I’ve loaned to never be seen again.
The first is a book called A Basket of Wishes by Rebecca Paisley. I’m an avid reader and most of the time, I adore sharing my favorite books with my family. This book is hysterical so I had to lend it to my sister who made everyone look at her in shock because she would laugh out loud over certain scenes. She isn’t the one who took it and never gave it back. That would be my aunt. For some reason, this book resonated with her and she highlighted and marked passages she loved. She read the book so many times, it was falling apart and she told me she couldn’t give it to me in that condition.
It took her about twelve years, but she finally found another copy to replace the one she mutilated. To be honest, I would have been okay with her keeping it since she loved it more than I did.
I’m pretty bad at the whole loaning thing as well. I still have a pair of shoes my best friend loaned me um, maybe ten years ago? I tried to give them back to her a couple of years ago and she said she has nowhere to wear them anyway, for me to keep them. Now, that’s a friend. Of course, she has a few of my books which if they were all added up would equal her shoes so I guess that makes us even.
