Searching and Searching

I hate when I lose things. For the most part, I’m pretty good about keeping track of my stuff, but once in a while I’ll totally forget what I did with things.

For instance, I haven’t been able to locate my camera in at least a year. I’m almost positive I had it last summer…or was it the summer before? The problem is, I can’t remember the last time I used it. I’m not a big picture taker, so it’s only when I’m going some place I really want to take pictures that I even remember I can’t find the camera.

I’ve torn my room apart, looked in bags, purses, under furniture and nothing. When I mention it, people always say, “Where did you use it last?” If I knew the answer to that, I’d probably remember what I did with it.

So yes, I have got to either get a new camera, or just use my phone when I go to Ohio this fall. My sister has threatened me upon pain of death if I don’t take pictures of Ellora’s Cave’s cavemen at the conference. I wonder if the camera on my phone would do them justice?

About danicaavet

Danica Avet lives and writes in the wilds of South Louisiana. Unmarried with no children, she's the proud pet of two cats and a dog. With a BA in History, she decided there were enough fry cooks in the world and tried her hand at writing. Danica loves losing herself in the antics of her characters and blushes more often than not at the things they do. She likes to define her work as paranormal romance with a touch of Cajun spice, but most times her characters turn the notch up to "five-alarm fire"!

Oh,I hope I don’t sound like a copy cat; mine is about my camera, too, but here is where we differ: I am a shutter-bug! Have a camera with you .Ohio should be pretty in the Fall.

Danica, I’ve got a great ‘missing camera’ story for you. One of my wife’s cousins was snapping pix as the kids were snow-sledding. Afterwards, they all came to our house for hot chocolate.
About a week later, this cousin calls and asks us if we’ve seen her camera. Nope … and we tell here where we SAW her using the camera (while taking pix).
And we ask the usual questions: is it in your car? in your purse, with your snowshoes, etc?
Nope and she keeps asking us to check all our property. … which we do, though we have no belief it’s on our end.
Finally, some two weeks later, that cousin calls and exclaims that her camera has resurfaced.
    Where was it?
In the pocket of a coat that she had in the pile of clothes going to Good Will.
