Automobile Trip From Hell

This week we’re supposed to chat about long auto rides and/or diversions on trips. I can only think of one in recent memory to talk about and that was a long ride I endured with a foursome where two of the people weren’t speaking to each other. It was a very LOOOOOONG drive. It was really only 7 hours but man, it felt like a 1,000. We even stopped for lunch and the two sat across from each other and didn’t talk- it was dreadful.

One person drove, I was in the passenger front seat and one of the ones in the back read the whole time and the other one slept. Or at least she seemed to be sleeping but that could’ve been her way of dealing with the tension in the car.

Long ride and lesson learned. Won’t be doing that again.

Oh, gee,Jillian, that sounds awful…I thought being with two lovey-dovey people was bad…I guess neither is fun.
Last year I went on a double-trip with my sister and grown niece….we’re usually very close but it was hard communicating with one in the backseat,(sometimes me), and the other two with slight hearing loss.A lot of “WHAT?”s and “I DIDN’T HEAR YOU”s went on, and a few huffy moments when one or another felt left out, or was tired of repeating everything. But we all survived.

    • Sounds like yours was a crazy trip, too. Yeah. Neither is fun.

I had this post set as a draft and forgot to set it to post. Laurie pointed out to me that I missed my day. I’m a dunce. Lol

Oooh, that sounds like an ugly drive. I can just bet it felt like 1,000 hours.

See, now I would have been with that person in the backseat – reading! Makes the trip go quicker, that’s for sure (and then you’re engrossed in the story and really don’t care what goes on around you!).

I can’t read in a car and I’m not very good at faking sleep. So I would’ve spent the entire 1000 hours just being stressed-out about the two hostile individuals.
