It’s an absolute pleasure and honour to be part of this amazing group – a big thanks to all the other Foxes and the Hound. And, jeez, do I have big shoes to fill.
Ok – so not only am I the newbie in fox-town, nope, I’m also allowed to have the last word for the year. The pressure is on! So let’s go out on a big bang!
Anyway. My name is Iris Blobel. Hard to read, harder to pronounce and nobody gets it right. I’m an author of three romance novels, which are mainly based here in Australia, as well as Ireland. German born and raised, I now call Australia home. And I do love it! Married, with two beautiful girls, life’s great! I work part-time at a local school and once a week I host a German program at VoiceFM. So, yes I’m busy. And no, I have no idea why I said yes to another job on my plate. But I kinda have the feeling this is going to be fun. Lotsa fun!
So I’m hoping that I will somehow not only get you to know me and desperately fall in love with my stories (LOL), nope, I also hope to give you a little taste of what Australia is like. Oh, and I hope to get to talk about books. I love reading books. And music. I love music … oh I can see already this is going to be good.
Anyway, the last day of 2012. Let’s go out with a Big Bang. No Sheldon, I’m afraid, but a free copy of my first novel “Sweet Dreams, Miss England”. Just hop over to Smashwords, add this code to the check out CD54P .. and voila – it’s yours. ENJOY .
And a happy 2013.
Cheers, Iris
Awww… great post, Iris. I know what you mean about having ‘extra’ jobs lol

Welcome,Iris! When Jeff asked for nominations to fill our dear ‘departed’ Danica’s slot, I brought your name up.I had enjoyed your guest blog and comments here…but I won’t take all the credit; Jeff brought you in to start with! Were going to miss that character Danica, but
I know you will be an asset. I’m sure we will all be happy to hear about your heritage and your adopted county, and anywhere else you have been and what is up-your-sleeve. I’m glad you are making time for us.
(BTW, you were worried about time differences and being late? Don’t worry; you were here early!)
I enjoy names; can you spell your last name phonetically for us?
I’ll be reading every post!

Hi Tonette! So when hubby and the girls are screaming for my attention I can just blame you …. LOL. That’s a lot of pressure you’re placing on my shoulders. I look forward to being part of this wonderful group and hopefully I can at least fill half of Danica’s shoes!
I was early ? Well … very unusual for me. Just don’t tell anybody!
It’s less the last name, but my first name. I’ve kept the German pronounciation which is more like the “Irr” in irresponsible or the one I like better “Irrisistable” 😉

Irrisistable — love it.
I had an uncle named Ian … and he (and everybody else) pronounced it Eye-an.

Delighted to have you on board the crazy ship, Iris.
I’m still hoping we can work out some sort of gambling scam … since you live in a world that is about 13-14 hours ahead of mine. I’ve got a scheme in mind where you can email me the results of the Super Bowl in time for me to place a bet even before the game begins here.
Now, I’m no scientist — like your buddy Sheldon — but surely that plan will work.
Right?

Sheldon, my good man !!! LOL …. yup the Super Bowl …. tried that. Wouldn’t work. Really a shame. We even tried the thing with the Lotto …. didn’t work either. So, Jeff, I guess it’s back to writing and earn money the hard way 😉

yeah, that’s definitely the hard way.
