Were you here last week? If not, you missed out on quite a week!
Janette told us about how an accident was a trigger for starting to write. Jeff’s post was all about a mysterious “tick tick tick” he had heard in his house that week. I believe his house is haunted, after all, there’s a graveyard nearby. And Tonette finished the week with a wonderful post about being “Prepared to live”.
Last week was a real treat.
So let me have a look what the theme is for this week. What do you hate most about hot temperatures?
*shuffles a bit closer to the heater*
Let me think. I’m definitely a lover of the warmer temperatures.
*takes the beanbag and sits right next to the heater with a hot cup of tea*

Oh, hang on. I’ve missed something …. in brackets: [For Iris, this is out of season, so she could flip it to cold temps if she wanted to.]
That’s easy! COLD FEET! No doubt about it. When I’ve got cold feet, nothing goes. It’s a real pain.
Okay, seriously. I think I’ve got a bit of maturity settling in me. LOL. I know! But to tell you the truth, I’m not that fussed about the weather anymore. It’s cold you rug up, it’s warm, you’re lazy. Try to accommodate to the situation and don’t stress about it, because the sun won’t shine less because YOU’RE too hot or vice versa in Winter. Fortunately, we don’t have the freezing temperature around here. The minus four degree Celsius last week was unusual. Although, the girls struggle a bit when a heat wave hits during the summer. And every parent knows, your kids are grumpy, it doesn’t take long for you to get tense!
The thing I DO NOT like in either hot or cold, is when it rains for days!

We’ve had such a mild winter where I live, it’s quite easy for me to say I prefer winter! Especially since are summers are so long and hot. But rain in winter is miserable.

Agree …. or getting the ice off the car before you can start! …. But I have to admit, I like the look / scenery of a Winter Wonderland 🙂

As in some other aspects of life, I run hot and cold. I definitely do NOT enjoy being chilled — it hurts all the way to my bones and aggravates a condition I have. However I like to sleep in a room that would be slightly colder than I would want if I were awake and moving about.
Conversely, I do NOT enjoy being steamed with heat & humidity — yes, I lived some 45 years in Louisiana and we had some humidity down there. It was quite common to have humidity of 95%. So I don’t like excessive heat/humidity, but I do enjoy being warm. Or warm-ish. On a summer day of 80 degrees (F) or so is just fine with me … but sign me up for a gentle breeze and some generous shade.

Agree, Jeff …. I kinda like all seasons nowadays, although i’m getting a bit tired of the extreme heat we can get here. It’s not often and it’s not long, but it’s tiring. Humidity though is a killer and is a no no for me … Spring would probably be my perfect season, especially with everything starting to bloom …

Possum Trot weather typically has VERY COLD winters — which are slightly easier on me than the same temperature in high humidity Louisiana — and typically hot (but not unbearable) summers. Again, the lower humidity in KY makes the heat more tolerable here. Here — in contrast to LA — we have a lengthy Spring & Fall. I like that.

I agree with all of the above! I almost gave a huge answer here and then realized I might not have anything left for my Friday post!
I used to just enjoy all weather and took what came.I think Earth is beautiful! But as beautiful as ice storms can be,I would never let another one happen.They are too dangerous!

The seasons can be beautiful indeed, if you’re not stuck out in them … I enjoy them all in the comfort of my home 🙂 That was one of the uncomfortable part of traveling in a Motorhome … it got freezing cold at night and we needed the heater on to have a decent sleep.

I would be happy with perpetual spring or fall, but I’m not sure such a place exists. Given the choice between hot summers and cold winters, I guess I would choose hot – so maybe I need to have two homes – one in the northern hemisphere where I can live from mid-April through mid-October, and another home in the southern hemisphere where I can live the rest of the year.

I live in Florida where it’s steamy summer for 10 months out of the year. Hubby complains that I don’t like to go walking. I complain that the sun hurts my eyes and burns my pale skin. Yep, I like the cold, even though I get cold faster than anyone I know. I’d much rather cuddle up with a hot cup of tea than sweat in a tee and shorts. But not to worry, we’re looking to move out of here soon! 😀

Probably Alpharetta, Georgia. Not far, but at least there are seasons, not far from the mountains and family, lower humidity for more of the year, and it’s one of the places that Hubby’s work will transfer to. 🙂

I lived in Macon, GA for two yrs, spaced about a dozen years apart.

I suppose it’s the advantage in winter …. you can stack on the clothes until you’re warm. It doesn’t work that way in Summer 🙂 My friend lives in Florida and she says the same thing, too hot for too long!
I reckon, Ireland would be a perfect place to live, right Shea? 😉
