Weird Christmas Presents?

Christmas season. What’s the weirdest present you’ve ever received or something along this line.

I’m hoping I’m writing on the right subject for my Tuesday post! I have been so overwhelmed, I’m not sure if we changed today’s topic. (I am sooooooo far behind on my emails.)

I’m not sure I’ve ever received a “weird” present for Christmas. Just different, I suppose. I recall the gift of a water purifier pitcher I received from my soon to be former husband – how unromantic – a sign of the times between us, I suppose. Another year he gave me a book about The Beatles. A book I never asked for (or had ever even SEEN!), I have yet to open it. I keep thinking maybe one day I’ll look into it and write a story along those lines. “/ Come to think of it, he never was very romantic. Could be another reason I started writing romance…

Other than that, I’m thinking I have nothing else to say on this topic. I look forward to hearing weird gift stories from You!

  2. I’m still thinking about what I can say for Friday, but you might re-think the caring that may have been part of the water purifier idea. One Christmas my son gave his future wife an electric can opener; she’s left-handed and has trouble with regular can openers.(He also gave her a silver bracelet, btw!). He walked in last week for one for me,since he saw me struggling with opening tuna for a casserole; my right thumb has suddenly become very arthritic). Both times such a practical gift made very thoughtful gifts. And at least, your husband wanted you to have clean water!

Hmmm. Weird gifts? Nope, can’t think of a one. Given a few fun gifts, though. Like the time our then teenage son wanted money, so he got it. A bunch of $1 bills crumpled up in a box with 10 times as much crumbled up newspaper cut to the same size as the bills. The box was like 24 by 24 by 24 and we told him he could only keep the money if he gave us an accurate count of how much was in the box. He was VERY careful and hit the amount spot-on! Lol.

Can’t believe I missed this one …. my sincere apologies! As for the book, I’ve got to say I gave my husband a book about motorbikes the first xmas we spent together. Over the years I figured he’s not so much into motorbikes, if at all. He likes Harleys but that’s about it. He was kind enough not to say anything.
And as for romantic … I believe, some people just can’t “give” presents, it’s not in their nature to “put themselves” into another person to think of something. Something we need to accept. I know a few of them 😉
