Phone Home …

This is this week’s question: Would you want to travel into outer space? Why or why not? Any particular planet or destination?

Initial answer – no way!

But I can’t just say no, otherwise today’s post would be boring.

Why or why not – “just ‘cause!”

When I moved to Australia a few years back, I honestly felt like I had moved to another planet. English wasn’t really English, linen sheet were for double, queen or king size, bread was toast, the steering wheel was on the right side not left, the keyboard was QWERTY and not QWERTZ and dinner was tea.

And you’re asking me if I’d like to go to outer space. No way. Australia was as far as I would go. I’m happy where I am and not in the slightest interested in something I know nothing about.

So there you have it… no adventures for me, s’il vous plait!

But stay tuned, it seems to be the month we’re talking about ET and friends 😉

About Iris B

Iris Blobel writes warm, sexy, and sometimes witty Australian Contemporary Romance books for readers who, like herself, still strongly believe in love and Happily Ever Afters. And she knows HEAs. Her couples are hungry for life, done with the past, passionate about family, and emotionally hopeful for a future. The stories are mainly set in Australia but also in New Zealand and even the US, depending on where her travels take her. She loves nothing more than for her readers to join her on her journeys.

  2. Oh,I guess I’ll come up with something for Friday, so I can’t really answer here except that I kind of saw this coming,Iris! I have a fondness for almost every Australian I have ever met. They are almost always friendly beyond reason!I am usually treated like a very close friend from the moment we meet, which is usually unnerving at the beginning but since I have loved so many of them, it has been quirky fun.(My brother had the same experience with Australian soldiers when he was a U S Marine in Viet Nam, of all places!) However, that being said,I have seen enough pictures and movies of Australia to know it is like another world, or, perhaps, several other worlds, with the deviation in geography/typography, and the animals.
Where is the keyboard QWERTZ, Gr. Britain? It’s QWERTY here, too .Is the Y at the bottom left?

Oh Tonette, I feel a bit like say “D’oh!” regarding the QUERTZ .. it’s the German layout of the keyboard. It seems the ‘z’ is used more often in the German lingo than they ‘y’ 🙂
And … what did you “kind of see coming”? That I’d talk about Australia ? LOL

You and me, both, Iris! (going into outer space) And I believe (as we’ve had discussion on here, before) English isn’t really English where you come from, Iris. LOL!

I’m still formulating my thoughts about outer space, but I WOULD love to visit Australia. And while I’m in that neighborhood, I’ll definitely spend some time in Tazzie.
