What would be on my shopping list this week and why?

cocolate chip cookie
That’s an interesting question. Especially since I don’t do much shopping. Other than the usual food and other personal items, I guess I have to say the most important thing on my shopping list this week (today actually) is a package of chocolate chip cookies.
Why chocolate chip cookies; you ask? My mother – who’s in a nearby care facility – is the answer. She refuses to take her medication without a chocolate chip cookie chaser. I keep her supplied. (I call her nurse the “candy man,” and he calls me the “supplier.”) LOL!
Long story short; I’ve been away for a couple weeks and returned yesterday to see she is out of cookies. I thought I left her well supplied before I left, but she IS a cookie monster. 🙂 I want her to take her meds and so it’s off to the store with me today!
My daughter tells me she needs to take some advice from her grandmother. LOL!
OH! OH! OH! I missed my free week last week while I was out of state, but I can’t help this little bit of pseudo free week revelry. I slipped on a pair of size 8 jeans this (well, yesterday) morning and they went right on without a problem!! Down from a size 16 in May!! YAY!

I don’t do much shopping, either, Janette. Like you, I only shop for the things I need now. No use looking at things I can’t afford! And kudos for going down FOUR sizes since May! I just started on a diet a month ago. I hope to have your kind of success by next spring.

Diet is a four letter word, Patricia. 🙂 I do plank exercises and my “diet” is simply eating as good – healthy – as I can. Good Fortune on your Springtime goal! Thanks for stopping by and reading me!

I used to LOVE choc chip cookies — especially when still warm from the oven.
But, since I’ve have to drop gluten (some 1065 days ago), the closest I’ve had has been stale, cold, hard imitation snacks which are manufactured to RESEMBLE choc chip.
    Very pale imitation, however.

  3. I can’t say that chocolate chop cookies have been my favorites, although a friends grandmother made some once that likes of which I have never tasted again.I used to make a nice recipe with pecans that everyone liked. I really love the Keebler with coconut, but , alas, they are off my list, since I was the only one who ate them ,other than one of my sons, who has sworn off sweets. Wrong carb choices to eat a whole bag by myself.
Good for you on your weight loss! Mine has not been as dramatic but I, too , slipped into something recently that I had not been able to wear in some time, and have had to ditch a number of slacks that are now baggy.
I hope your Cookie-Monster Mother continues to do well!

I’ve always loved CC cookies, but have sworn them off as they are NOT a part of my new “good” eating plan. 🙂 Thank you for your congratulations (?) on my weight loss. I could not believe it would happen in the land of good southern food! Congratulations to you, too, for fitting into something you haven’t worn in a long time. Isn’t it a good feeling? I’m just praying my cookie monster momma continues to improve. I’ve always wondered what she remembers, but she’s not too bad off in that department, yet. Today An aide told me she asked my mom if she wanted to lay down for a nap (before I got there) and my momma told her no and mentioned her daughter! She knew I was coming! 🙂 I could also tell she missed me when I got back from my two week TX trip bc she got all happy when I appeared! 🙂

  4. Love cc cookies, but BIG CONGRATS on the size 8!!!
