Wrong. Her twice-removed third cousin-in-law turns out to be a hunk with moves like a special forces ninja. And one of them is a magnet for trouble… of the wrong kind. The sort of trouble that has her running through the woods at midnight, terrified and confused. The sort with bad guys and guns.

It’s the wrong way to feel about a cousin, even one by marriage. But she feels safe with Mike. And if they both make it through this long, troubled night, she’ll take a really close look at Aunt Mary’s family tree.

      Jenn, it is truly good. Here’s my review:
      In what I consider his best work to date, “One Simple Favor”, J.L. Salter once again perfectly captures a woman’s ‘voice’ as the protagonist of his story. His takes his characters on a bumpy ride, but he makes it a smooth read for us.
      Trisha Pilgrim, a young office manager, is pressed into picking up a distant cousin, a relative of her formidable aunt-by-marriage, at a bus station. Tricia arrives long after the bus comes into the terminal, has no idea of the man’s last name nor does she have a physical description of him past his preteens. She finds “Michael” and plans to deliver him to their mutual relative, but the man is not at all what she expected. The night is filled with unlikely occurrences that snowball after they help a battered woman at a quick-stop. Although the situations are improbable, Salter writes them with such ease and flow that he makes them seem plausible. His characters are described with style and wit and he has a rare ear for dialogue. He has mastered the romantic comedy genre.
      Can Tricia overcome her inhibitions over becoming involved with a not-related-by-blood family member? Can she reconcile her otherwise conservative leanings with the law- skirting that not only her ‘cousin’ has admitted to, but that which she herself became involved in during the crazy events of the night? What further surprises await her? Will her life ever be the same after doing One Simple Favor?

    As I said in my review that I have posted everywhere I could think of:I love this book!
    When my guest had to bail on me, I ALMOST decided to make my review as my Friday post, but I didn’t. I will send it up near the top to Jenn, though.
