TBR List, Part Four

Last month my selections included three books. Here are the books and my impressions. If you click on the book covers you can read my reviews on Goodreads:

Angel Beneath My Wheels by K. S. Moore. This is a wonderful debut novel, even if you’re not a car afficianado. Kathryn (K. S.) was a guest fox a few weeks ago, and if you missed her post and my review of her book you can read it HERE.

 

 

Christi Bell by Lori Lapekes. I’m so glad I finally put aside my misgivings and read this book! I’d read bits and pieces, but Christi is such an unusual character it was difficult for me to be sympathetic toward her. She’s described as quirky, but some of the choices she made were (in my mind) just odd. But when I forced myself to read it all the way through I was glad I did. This is an awesome story.

 

 

Color of Darkness by Ruth J. Hartman is the second book in the Sullyard Sisters trilogy. Lydia Sullyard, the heroine, has been committed to Bedlam Hospital, having been accused of being insane. Her family is unable to help her, and her only connection to the outside world is the one man who can get her out – but the price is incredibly high. Once I started reading this book, I finished it in one sitting!

 

 

I also managed to read and review Double Trouble, a sweet romance by my good friend Darcy Flynn. It’s a cute story involving two sets of identical twins – so I’m anticipating at least one sequel! Click on the book cover to read my review.

 

 

So now it’s time to choose my picks for next month! Another author friend, Brooke Williams, has completed the third book in her Dandelion series and asked me to read and review it. I read the first one in this series and I figured I probably ought to read the second one before I go on to the third. Dandelions on the Road is 303 pages long – much longer than many of her other books! Book three won’t be out until May 17, so I’ve got a little time to get caught up.

 

Last week Ruth J. Hartman released the third in her Sullyard Sisters series, Color of Danger. I’ve got this one loaded on all my devices, too, so I’ll be able to find out what happens to the third and youngest sister.

 

 

 

Kay Springsteen has re-released her Heart series, and since I didn’t read them the first time, I’m going to invest some time in those books, too. The first in the series is Heartsight. The bits and pieces I’ve read are intriguing, and Kay’s writing is always lush and inspiring.

 

 

 

After next month, summer break begins at the university so I’ll have more time to read – and write!
