TBR #10 and Another Release!

This is a free week on the blog, and all year long I’ve been posting the things I’ve read. I’ve managed to get a few read, even though it’s a busy season with concerts to play, term papers to read, and holiday gatherings to clean up for. Here’s what I got through this month:

A-One Simple Favor-medOne Simple Favor by J. L. Salter. There’s a lot going on in this story, and the hardest thing about reading it was having to put it down! It’s a thrilling tale of what can go wrong when you pick up the wrong person at the bus station. Who knew? There’s danger, there’s a hint of romance, and a chuckle or two mixed in. I had a hard time identifying with the heroine and her decisions, but the hero was definitely yummy – if I ever pick up a stranger at a bus stop, I hope he’s like Mike. I’m slowly working my way through the 4F1H booklist! My review is on Goodreads.

forgotten-friendForgotten Friend by Miranda D. Nelson. This is one of the stories in the anthology Nine Ladies Dancing, which includes my new regency Three French Inns. This is a cute story, and I would have left a review on Goodreads, but apparently it’s not available as a single title! According to her Amazon bio, Miranda is a relatively new author, and Forgotten Friend is a nice story about childhood friends who meet again after several years apart. Due to family circumstances, both have changed, and they have to look past outward appearances to find the people they knew and loved long ago.

In other news, my annual Christmas release is now available, both as a single book and as part of an anthology of historical romances! Three French Inns is the continuation of a series begun several years ago with The Partridge and the Peartree and last year’s Two Tutor Doves. I’m so excited about this story – it was a lot of work, because I had to do a LOT of research! Fortunately, I was able to find people who were willing and able to help me with details like the French language, French history, and innkeeping!

thanks for your kind remarks about my novella, One Simple Favor.
This was my first effort at compacting the entire story into just a few hours — in this case, it was about half a day (minus their few hours of sleep).
It was a fun story to write.
Good luck on your series. Hope you have bushels of sales.
