The question posed this week is for us to pick a song that describes our year so far.
What a year this has been! It’s been one family crises on top of another.
“My Way” does NOT fit.
I refuse, however, to let go of my sense of humor.
When I asked my niece, she first said, “Titanic!” I hate to keep bringing it up, but since a car wreck has made a major impact (!) on my life, I thought of “Dead Man’s Curve”, (although I certainly was not racing).
I turned to my husband and said, “I think with ‘clowns to the left of us, jokers to the right’ that ‘Stuck in the Middle with You’ might work”.
That’s when he suggested the theme to “Game of Thrones”.
Then my niece came up with “Margaritaville”…don’t tempt me.
My niece also suggested “Hotel California”, which is an allegory for Hell, and well, it seemed like we were getting closer.
[ I should probably find a few good hymns to work on all of this.]
If we went by titles alone, “It Don’t Come Easy” covers it; either that, or “I Go Crazy”. I refuse to accept “Put Your Dreams Away.” Nope, won’t do.
I will go back and revisit the first idea: “Titanic”. The theme song is actually titled “My Heart Will Go On” and that is the closest I can come to a theme. No matter what, my heart will go on.
several excellent tunes in your list today. I especially like Sinatra’s “My Way” and the Eagles’ “Hotel California.” Also, “STuck in the Middle with you.”
Alas, for me at least, none of those would be a fitting way for my outlook to approach my year.

I’m sorry you’ve had it so rough. I hope things start turning around soon so that you can have a happier theme.
