Today I would like to introduce romance writer Hazel Grace. Hazel had the first two volumes of her series published this year. Like many of my guests, we met through mutual friends on Facebook.
I’m going to jump right in with questions from her.
Welcome, Hazel!
Personally, I LOVE Facebook. It has given me opportunities to socialize, (from a disadvantaged point), but more importantly, to mingle with writers. Do you find it helpful in networking?
Extremely, and it’s the thing I enjoy the most. Us, as author, spend so much time and emotion on our stories, it’s really nice to hear reactions and feedback.
You have a family, so I know finding time to write is sometimes difficult. When and where do you do your writing?
The mornings when my kids are still sleeping, mostly on the weekends.
Your “Array” series is fairly unique in its format. You bounce between timelines, and points of view between your characters change from chapter to chapter. What gave you the idea for this approach?
I’ve always enjoyed books from different points of view when I read, so writing one was where I wanted to go. When writing it, it just flowed when I bounced between timelines.
“Arranged” is your first book, “Aligned” is your second. Do you plan to keep the alliteration going in subsequent volumes of the series?
Yes The series has one more book, Avenged, that I’m working on now. I took a break from it because Aligned was such an emotional roller-coaster when writing it, that it drained me.
What inspired the unusual storylines in the “Array” books?
From reading a LOT of historical romance novels. Many followed the same “rules” and verbiage of that time and I wanted freedom to be able to make and do what I wanted.
The lands of the “Array” world are similar to Europe. Do you base any of your sites on real places?
No, they actually all just come in my head, but Europe was what I based the location on.
The story is not a modern-day tale. What timeline in our world would you equate with the world in “Array”?
I’d say early 1800s.
Do you foresee the stories continuing indefinitely, or do you have a limited number of volumes with an ending planned?
Unfortunately, yes, Avenged will be the last book of the series.
Do you have other stories within you waiting to spring out? Do you have other stories or storylines started?
I do, I have my first contemporary romance, Disorderly coming out 11.20.18. I also have an anthology coming out February 2019 and Enemies to Lovers book coming out next year as well.
Do you enjoy any other creative endeavors?
I actually race my car in the summer, not sure if you’d call that creative but it’s an adrenaline rush. I crotchet and I love to bake.
Is there anything that you’d like to add for our readers?
Hi readers! Thanks so much for reading this. I’m not an author that posts things everyday (honestly it kinda drives me nuts) but if you’d like to get to know me, all my links are below.

Thank you, Hazel Grace! I hope that we can hear more about the “Enemies to Lovers” books.
Welcome, Hazel! Congratulations on releasing your trilogy, as well as your other projects. Social media is time-consuming, but unfortunately it’s becoming a necessary part of promoting our books. I like to crochet, too, and sometimes I bake, but I’m sure that if I were in a race car I would feel something totally different from an adrenaline rush!

You and me, too, Patty! I have to admire Hazel’s spirit. My sister used to race cars;we are polar opposites in many ways.
