Despite new family changes, I am ready to get into the writings which I have put off finishing; most of it as a result of being kick-started by a recent guest and his writing/advice, and a friend of his who also gives good advice.
Where to go, though?
I have darned-near every ‘start’ vying for my attention!
So much is running through my mind, it was hard to know which should get my priority. When I settled on one, I found that a bit of research which I should add was hard to come by.
Has anyone else noticed that information is getting harder to pin down on the internet? Ads start out with their own ‘version’ of info. I know to get past those because there is usually a line and the ads have to be labeled, but it’s though it’s easy to jump the gun and hit the first site that seems interesting. Then, they can put up charts or say they have images, call themselves ‘information sites’ and get away with trying to sell you something anyway, with a slant in the ‘facts’ to make their goods look great. The sites following those still seem to get stuck on one point and it’s hard to get past it, and then they keep putting the same article or site up over and over again.
I spent all day Sunday trying to find particular material and there was no way to get my question answered. I would find a rare nugget and then have to look that up specifically; there was a lot of guessing going on. I had to get creative to even get ideas as to WHAT to question to get the answer to my query.
Honestly, I only needed general info; I have no intention of going into too much detail. However, after a while, I have to admit that I became a woman on a mission!
I was not going to throw in the towel.
I got more info and ideas as to WHAT to ask when I fell into someone’s Pintrest page than any other place.
Finally I realized that I had enough to add a little more to the story.
But as long as I have had that particular story perking, even most of it down on ‘paper’, I am glad that it has taken me this long. You see, I had not enough writing experience of writing ‘romance’ and the question of what to leave out and who much detail to put in is a balance that is hard even for long-time published writers. Some gloss over when you want to know more and many give details until the reader is ready to scream. The one thing that anyone who has read any of my posts here knows that the one thing I do not want to do is get it WRONG; I will not guess. I want to be accurate, even if I barely mention details.
Anyway in 20/20 hindsight, the stories, particularly the one I am back to, needed time.
Time is up for them, before my time is up.
