Ahhhh …. Full Moon.
Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” comes to mind, or REM’s “Man on the moon”, or the tv series “Moonlighting” with Bruce Willis.
Full Moon. As a “liker” of Astrology I know that the moon is the ruler of Cancer. The Moon represents our deepest personal needs, our basic habits and reactions, and our unconscious. And I truly believe that, when Moon and Jupiter clash, I’m better off staying in bed – it’s gonna be a rotten day! 😉
But back to the Full Moon. It’s kinda a busy time in this household. At night, of course. Depending on how things go, it’s busy with people walking and talking. People I mean as in, either my daughters or even my husband. They don’t believe in the full moon theory, but I do, otherwise I think I would go insane. So, basically, I have my daughters walking and my husband talking – add ‘sleep’ in front of the w/talking word. They wake up rested and I wake up tired and moody. With a calendar warning me ahead of the day … I am prepared and sleep with earplugs!

When I used to work in public libraries (about 28 years), we had LOTS of behavior problems with certain customers / patrons.
When there was a particularly noticeable rash of these incidents, some of my managers would note, “Well it must be a full moon.”
I’ve also heard there are more crimes, in general, during full moon.

I totally believe that the moon affects people. I’ve seen it too many times to count. AND Jeff is right, more crimes are committed then as well. New moon also affects some people, too. It’s a mysterious world and I love it!

I have a very tense scene in one of my unpublished novels … which occurs during a New Moon. I hope to see it in print one day.

Oh, yeah, Jeff; bring it on!
I was told by nurses that during full moons more babies are born,(or at least, that their mothers go into labor).
My sons, both of whom are EMT’s,insist that people also go whacky during a New Moon, but it just doesn’t get noticed…it’s easy to over-look something at can’t be seen,I guess1

when I was a kid, one night I was sleeping horribly — unusual for me at that age. I tossed and turned and just felt like something awful was going on.
So I opened my eyes and looked around my bedroom. There, through my open window was the full moon just literally bathing me in its light.
I had not SEEN the moon, but I had FELT it’s influence for those restless hours.

Yes, Tonette, I heard that, too. The very few nurses I know always say Easter is one busy time with babies being born!

apparently its a known fact to nurses or anyone working with mental health patients that they seem to sell out of crazy during the full moon. Ive regular heard a few friends in the police utter the immortal words ” must be a full moon.” No smoke without ire i guess.
I know i certainly have interesting nocturnal habits …

Thanks for stopping by Mike. Yes, I’m sure of it as well, that the full moon has a lot of impact on our life (and not only humans!) in many ways. A lot of midwives say that there are more births around full moon.
