One of my all time favorite writers is Harlan Coben. I’ve loved his work since the first release. He’s got a terrific sense of humor and his characters are always, always interesting and intriguing (maybe I should have saved those two words for the letter “I” since that’s my letter, too). I admire the heck out of how Mr. Coben can twist and turn a tale in all directions and yet still have a cohesive ending that holds together very well. He never has an “out of left field” solution to his stories. I love solving the puzzles along with the protagonist.
I was talking to Barbara Vey of Beyond her Book from Publisher’s Weekly a couple of weeks ago and told her that if I ever made it to Milwaukee to her reader’s luncheon, I’d want to sit with Harlen Coben. She shared with me that he’s as super nice in person as he seems to be in interviews, twitter and his website. That made me happy to hear. I love that he’s as real and down to Earth as he seems.
If you’ve never read one of his books, get thyself to the bookstore post-haste. I just finished his latest, Stay Close. It’s wonderful!
C IS FOR COBEN! DON’T FORGET IT!!

Happy to feed an addiction to books, Tonette. I’m an enabler and proud of it. If you start the Myron Bolitar series, you won’t be able to stop. He’s like potato chips.

I am sooo with you on loving Harlan Coben books. I just finished Live Wire and I’m waiting for Stay Close to come out in paperback. I’d get it in digital but I share books with my daughter who’s also a big fan and she doesn’t have an e-reader.

I first heard of Harlan Coben from taking a Margie Lawson class. She uses lots of examples from different writers, but the excerpt she used from “Caught” had me running to the bookstore. And it did not disappoint. I have several others that I have in my To Be Read pile. I’m thinking my pile needs to be shuffled around now.

It does need to be shuffled. For sure. I buy his as soon as they come out and devour them.
